Join Rico Gonzales for an exclusive SSL Masterclass and gain firsthand insight into the workflows, techniques, and real-world experience of a seasoned mixing engineer working at the highest levels of studio, touring, broadcast, and Grammy-recognised productions.


Richard “Rico” Gonzales is a Dallas-based mixing engineer whose career spans studio recording, live touring, broadcast, and church production at the highest levels of the industry, including contributions to Grammy Award-winning and Grammy-nominated projects. Beginning as a musician before transitioning into engineering, Rico built his foundation in the studio world at Maximedia Studio in Dallas (later known as MediaTech Institute), where he worked on an SSL G+ 80-channel console with an impressive roster of artists including Kirk Franklin, Mariah Carey, Timbaland, Missy Elliott, Clay Aiken, and many more. He also served as Senior Audio Engineer for country music legend Charley Pride at CECCA Music Studios.

In the live sound world, Rico has served as monitor engineer for Stevie Wonder for over 12 years and for Lizzo for the past four years. His FOH credits also include acclaimed artists such as Jon Batiste, PJ Morton, Kirk Franklin, and Black Eyed Peas. For more than 15 years, Rico has worked with T. D. Jakes and The Potter's House in both live sound and recording environments, mastering the unique demands of FOH, monitors, broadcast, and music production in large-scale church production. Since 2020, he has also served as an audio consultant, FOH engineer, broadcast engineer, and mixing engineer for Transformation Church.
