The encoder, which runs on a standard Windows computer, is capable of encoding multiple streams at different data rates and formats from a single SD or HD source. The encoder is fault-tolerant and fully controllable from a remote device. It supports numerous software codecs, variable data rates and resolutions. Video inputs can be analog or digital. It can accept four AES stereo/two channel audio streams or 16 from within an SDI source. It is genlockable and accepts timecode via an NTP server.
The encoder allows local and remote starting and stopping of captures. Locally the unit is controlled via the GUI which previews incoming video, and once in record displays record duration, local storage time remaining (if not connected to a MAM) and controls to stop the recording. The unit can also be remotely controlled by the Gravity Asset Manager and Scheduler.
