The MediaWAN server is a fully redundant, high-availability media storage device serving Gravity media clients with centralized files and streams. The server provides prioritized, managed media services for ingest and playout. The streams/files being captured can be accessed for editing/playback within five seconds of the record head. Content can be cut, published and played out while the system is still capturing/streaming the raw material. The server is a completely scalable; by adding additional storage and/or computers to the system there is no set limit to the number of user stations that can be added. The MediaWAN server uses intelligent buffering schemes that allow the system to run at the highest performance levels. The servers are configured with redundant components to provide no single point of failure.
