Person Specification

We are looking for a Test Technician to join our growing team. Candidates should be able to work to a high standard, follow instructions, work precisely, have a high degree of dexterity and have an excellent eye for detail and quality. The successful applicant will have on the job training.

This role would suit someone with experience or an interest in Model or Kit Building, Mechanics, Electronics or Technology.

You must possess a ‘get up and go, can do attitude’.

Main Tasks and responsibilities

  • To carry out mechanical assembly, wiring, testing and packing of high technology audio products within the company’s standards, procedures and specifications.
  • Assess content of kits.
  • Repairing field returns.
  • Logically analysing and solving problems.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Background in at least one of the following: Mechanical, wiring and/or PCB sub-assemblies – Assembly, Test and Repair.
  • GCSE Grade C or above in Maths/English/Technology or 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Good rework skills both surface mount and through hole is desirable.
  • An interest in Technology, Electronics and Audio Mixing would be an advantage.
  • Basic PC Application knowledge of Windows, Word and Excel/Google Sheets.
  • Manufacturing and/or MPR knowledge would be an advantage.

  • Highly focused, self-motivated and proactive with the capability to work alone or in a team environment.
  • Strong problem solving with a basic level of technical competence.
  • Analytical, meticulous attention to detail and good communication skills.
  • Able to change focus and direction quickly upon request. Willing to do what it takes.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Knowledge of the best practice manufacturing techniques would be an advantage.
