New Features in Duende software V3
Duende V3 for both the Mac and PC platforms is a significant software upgrade which introduces the following features and improvements:
- New Hybrid Core Processing Engine
- Highly improved driver and communication stability
- Low latency - only determined by the audio device and the host buffer settings
- Higher plug-in counts - up to 128 Plug-In Slots on a single Duende*
- Centralised authorisation system for plug-ins and channel count upgrades
- New optional plug-in exclusively for Duende V3 - X-Verb
Please note that Duende V3 is NOT COMPATIBLE with Power PC Macs (G4/G5) or Tiger OS 10.4. It will only work on Intel Macs running Leopard OS 10.5 or higher.
Duende V3 is also only NOT COMPATIBLE with PC systems using anything less than a Core 2 processor - this includes Core, PentiumD, Pentium and equivalents.

Duende V3.1.0:
Fixes:
- DSP code optimisations added to all plug-ins. This will also eliminate the large CPU increase when the project is NOT playing that some users have experienced.
All plug-ins:
- General CPU requirements are lowered.
- Added section/module based dynamic resource allocation: If a section of a plug-in is not being used then it does not use CPU resources anymore. This gives roughly a 25% increase in CPU efficiency in a typical project.
- The default plug-in settings now reflect this, such that all modules are in neutral positions upon instantiation.
Channel:
- Further DSP code optimisations for the mono version. This will increase CPU efficiency.
X-Eq:
- Clicking on an Eq band is now reflected in the parameter section on the right hand side.
Vocalstrip:
- Collapse to mono when using Compander is now fixed in Stereo Vocalstrip
X-Verb:
- Diffusion Engine optimisations
- The filter no longer silences the output when enabled and the logic transport is looped (or play is pressed).
- ER MasterTime Units in sub pages Modulate and Filters showed ms instead of %: Fixed
- Image somtimes jumped to other positions (like when hitting -45): Fixed
- Dezipping architecture optimized for smoother dynamic parameter changes
- Dezipping implemented for ER Chorus Depth
- Loading a preset using next/previous buttons didn't update the Floatation "ghosting": Fixed
- When opening the GUI, DSP parameters were updated, causing audible clicks: Fixed
- When ER Master level was not equal to 100% it was difficult to use the graph nodes: Fixed
- Reverb mode has been removed from the quick controls. Existing presets should be unaffected
- Saving a preset now saves the morphed values (the current values when morph is active), rather than the active A / B set.
Please note that this release does not update drivers, firmware or prefs panel. Only the plug-ins have been updated since v3.0.2/3.0.3.
