MadiXtreme V1.2 now works with the following OS X Versions:
MAC OS X 10.5.x (Leopard) 32-Bit Kernel
MAC OS X 10.6.x (Snow Leopard) 32-Bit Kernel
MAC OS X 10.6.x (Snow Leopard) 64-Bit Kernel
MAC OS X 10.4.x (Tiger) is NOT tested and officially certified anymore.
If you want to use a tested and certified configuration on Tiger (OS X 10.4.11), please use the MadiXtreme Driver V1.1 instead.
Installation:
Please run the Installer and follow the on-screen instructions.
If you are updating from a previous MadiXtreme Driver Version, please open the MadiXtreme Control Panel App after successful installation and check if the new driver could be started.
Due to certain Audio and Midi Services activated in your System (for example Soundflower, Aggregate Devices) can prevent the successful restart of the new driver, you may get an empty MadiXtreme control panel.
Please reboot your MAC in this case.
If the Control Panel starts the Firmware Updater, please follow the onscreen instructions carefully and update the firmware immediately.
This V1.2 driver requires MadiXtreme Firmware 15 to be installed on the Card.
A firmware update requires a complete Power Cycle to activate the new Firmware Image, so after the Firmware Update is finished, please power down your MAC, wait 5 seconds and power it on again.
Snow Leopard 64 Bit Performance:
Currently only a limited amount of Audio Applications are fully 64 Bit compatible (ie. Apple Logic 9 and Mainstage 2) and only certain MAC Pro's allow to boot into Snow Leopards 64 Bit Kernel.
If you are testing the MadiXtreme performance running 64 Bit Kernel and for example Logic 9.x in 64 Bit application Mode, make sure you have all the latest OS X updates and Logic 9 updates installed.
A comparable latency and cpu performance between 32 bit and 64 bit is only to be expected on OS X 10.6.3.1 and Logic 9.1.1 or higher.

This driver will also update all other SSL Soundscape devices (MX4, MadiXtreme, Mixpander, MiXtreme, Soundscape) as well as the firmware for the Alpha-Link AX, MADI AX and MADI SX

NOTE: Currently this 64 Bit Driver only supports Soundscape V6 Streaming and ASIO 32. WDM64 and ASIO 64 API's will be added in the future. This means you currently cannot use MX4/Mixpander as Standard Windows Soundcard and ASIO 64 based Host's (ie. Cubase 5-64Bit) will not see any ASIO Driver.
