New in SSL Soundscape V6.2

- New Pro-Convert for Soundscape Module integrated into Soundscape (Soundscape V6 license required), allowing direct Import and Export of Pro Tools Sessions, Apple Final Cut XML's, Cubase/Nuendo Track Archives and Samplitude/Sequoia EDL's
- New SSL Console Control Module, allowing tight integration between Soundscape and SSL controllers/consoles, like Nucleus and Matrix
- Support for SSL MadiXtreme PCIe audiocards
- New native Sync support for MadiXtreme and MX4 based setups, including MTC Master/Slave and MMC Slave Modes
- Multichannel Native Track Insert elements are added
- Delay compensation support is added for VST plug-ins with variable delays (ie. Universal Audio UAD Cards)
- Native Track Insert elements: "mix input always" status is reflected in track arming button colours
- Frame rate 29.97 calculations replaced by more accurate and now industry-wide accepted 30 x 1000/1001 calculations
- Number of virtual tracks increased to 1024
- Maximum number of parts increased to 131072
- File Manager new smart sort order scheme
- Pressing sort column with left mousebutton will first pre-sort files in 2 groups in a fixed order before the sort option is applied: Group 1: Folders, Group 2: Files
- Pressing sort column with right mousebutton will first pre-sort files in a V5.5-alike fixed group order
Known issues fixed in V6.2
- "Open Arrangement" operation that was canceled did loose "current" arrangement status
- Track inserts were unneccessary blocked in certain mixer edit cases
- ADC wrongly inserted mono delay compensation element in case previous element at the insertion point was mono now it also checks the next element and uses the maximum found channel width
- File Manager status display also shows selected file count now after a "Select Take(s)" operation
- MadiXtreme mixer can not handle more than 63 tracks due to unjustified DSP resource checking
- Immediately going into record after a current-locator change gave unjustified "Recorder engine processing power limit reached."
- File Manager: auto-renamed duplicate filenames mechanism could alter folder name as well!
- File Manager: smarter file context sensitive "Convert to..." rightclicked popup menu entries
NOTE: Without a valid Soundscape V6 license (optional Password to be entered in the Options Menu) Soundscape V6 is fully functional but limited to the first 16 Tracks (Trk 1-16). Also without a license the Pro-Convert for Soundscape functionality will not be visible.
Automation Tracks are unlimited, making Soundscape V6 also the ideal fully automated "SSL Console in the Box" for SSL Mixer V6 users (Sync via ASIO Positioning Protocol).
System Requirements:
- Hardware Connected: MX4, MadiXtreme 64 or 128, Mixpander 5 or 9 with SSL Alpha-Link or Soundscape iBox24/48/64, Soundscape 16/32 and R.Ed 16/24/32 DAW's (no 64 Bit!!!!), Soundscape PCI Host, EPP and ISA Host (no 64 Bit!!!!)
- Platform: Intel Pentium or higher and compatible CPUs
- Operating Systems: Windows XP, Vista 32 Bit or 64 Bit, Windows 7 32 Bit or 64 Bit (64-Bit only recommended for MX4 or MadiXtreme based Systems)
- Storage: 250 Mb of free hard disk space for Installation files
Installation:
IMPORTANT: Please follow the steps described below.
On Windows 64 Bit System it is mandatory to update/install the driver "the Microsoft Way" as described. Otherwise Windows may reset certain registry entries to a previous state on each reboot and the SSL Soundscape Devices may not work as expected.
Driver Installation on Windows 32-Bit Systems:
- Exit all SSL Soundscape related software
- Extract downloaded ZIP file to a temporary directory
- Install the Driver (DrvSetup.exe) located in the folder "01 SSL Soundscape Family Driver"
- Firmware Update on MadiXtreme and MX4 Cards:
- After the Driver has been updated open the TRack.exe Applet located in the Ssdrv Driver Folder
- Double click on each MadiXtreme Device. A Firmware Updater will launch
- Please follow the On-Screen Instructions
- When done, COLD BOOT the PC (Power Down, wait 10 seconds, switch On to reboot)
Driver Installation on Windows 64-Bit Systems:
First Time Users:
- Insert the Card
- Power on your System
- Follow the onscreen Plug and Play Driver Installation and Choose Driver from extracted Download Directory
Driver Update:
- Exit all SSL Soundscape related software
- Extract downloaded ZIP file to a temporary directory
- Go to Device Manager, locate SSL Soundscape devices
- For each entry (MadiXtreme device and Mixpander) right click, select Update Driver and point to the extracted temp directory
- Firmware Update on Madixtreme and MX4 cards:
- After the driver has been updated open the TRack.exe applet located in the Ssdrv driver folder
- Double click on each MadiXtreme device. A firmware updater will launch
- Please follow the on-screen instructions
- When done, COLD BOOT the PC (Power Down, wait 10 seconds, switch On to reboot)
Installation:
- Exit all SSL Soundscape related software
- Extract downloaded ZIP file to a temporary directory
- Install the Driver located in the folder "01 SSL Soundscape Family Driver 62"
- Install the SSL Soundscape and/or Mixer software located in the folder "02 SSL Soundscape & Mixer V62"
- Install the Console Manager software located in the Folder "03 Console Manager V155"
IMPORTANT:
- Make sure to first install the driver before Installing any SSL Soundscape Software
- After installation of a driver ALWAYS reboot your PC
- After a MX4 firmware update ALWAYS power down your PC, wait for 5 seconds and power it on again to activate the new firmware
- On first start of the software make sure to properly configure your devices in the Unit Configuration window
- Please register your hardware
