In February 2005, Samuel Girardin acquired an AWS 900 console in Quebec, from the AWS 900 Canadian dealer 'AudioPro International'.
Samuel Girardin, 22 year old president and founder of Point d'Orgue launched the company in 2002, and has had big successes since. The firm has most notably contributed to a 2003 Desjardins Campaign, that ended up a prize winner for Best Music at Montreal's Annual Advertising Award ceremony.
Other clients include Ubisoft Entertainment, A2M, Sardine Productions, Fair Play and on an international level, Evans & Sutherland and Leap Frog Enterprises.
Samuel's work this year has been concentrated around recording the dialogue of a new video game for Ubisoft called Far Cry 4. This year Samuel has also mixed the music of Samuel Laflamme for 6 TV documentaries, the album of Christian Morriset and is currently finishing the mixing of the second album of Lynda Thalie.
Samuel comments about the AWS 900 console for his studios: "The integration of the AWS 900 with the studio is awesome. This console offers a great versatility for the mix. You can think that you have 2 console in front of you; one analogue and one digital. I like to use the inserts of my Pro Tools channels to assign the channel strips of the SSL. I'm always mixing tracks and groups roughly with the analogue mode before any automation in Pro Tools. This automation is really powerful and efficient with the AWS 900, you have a good feeling with the knobs and faders."
