Since SSL’s initial Live product launch a few years ago, this part of our business has grown quickly with a long list of satisfied users and an accompanying network of dealers and hire companies. With ambitious plans to grow this momentum and success, we're now looking for an energetic and evangelistic Product Manager who can help us scope, develop, and deliver our future live products. This is an exciting and varied position for someone with experience and a passion for Live sound, based at our Begbroke HQ in Oxfordshire, and involving regular international travel.


Purpose of role:

At SSL a Product Manager is the product ‘owner’ and is responsible for a product, or products throughout the product lifecycle, including gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the market and how the product vision fits that market, while working closely with engineering, sales, marketing and support roles to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. The Product Manager also works closely with the senior management team to ensure their products support the company's overall strategy and goals.


Specifically responsible for:

  • Managing the product life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities.
  • Specifying market requirements for current and future products using thorough market awareness supported by close working relationships with customers.
  • Driving SSL’s product development process as a key part of a project management team. Providing guidance and input to the cross-functional project team on customer expectations, market requirements, product offering, and positioning.
  • Writing specifications to provide clear aims and priorities for the development process.
  • Developing a company-wide ‘go-to-market’ plan for products, working with all departments to execute.
  • Analysing potential partner relationships for product development and new product ideas.


Skills and Experience:

  • Extensive experience of Live audio production and the technology that surrounds it.
  • Understanding of audio systems technology, ideally including experience with MADI and Audio over IP systems, such as Audinate’s Dante.
  • Product management, or similar experience for another equipment manufacturer
  • Presentation experience to both technical and commercial audiences
  • Experience of both leading and working within a team
  • Commercial and technical experience in audio engineering, business and project management.



  • Educated to degree level (or equivalent) or equivalent working experience
  • Full, Clean UK Driving Licence
  • The right to work and remain in the UK
