Support Engineer / Technical Trainer

SSL is actively seeking a Support Engineer and Technical Trainer to complement our UK based team. Supporting clients in the broadcast, live, and studio sectors, the position is based at SSL's headquarters in Oxfordshire and includes significant worldwide travel, sometimes at short notice. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with some experience in the professional audio industry to broaden their horizons and grow in a fast-paced, industry-leading organisation.

Key Duties:
Reporting to the Support Team Leader, you will be primarily responsible for post-sales support, on-site system commissioning and client training, but will have a desire to broaden your role as you grow in your career to include the following:

  • Software testing and validation
  • Investigation of client hardware, software and workflow issues
  • Authoring technical documentation
  • Developing internal and external training material
  • Assisting other areas of the business including system design, pre-sales specification, product demonstration, product development and process improvement

Essential Requirements:

  • At least 2 years experience in a technical role in professional audio or broadcast
  • Experience in troubleshooting at a system level, ideally involving multiple vendors’ equipment
  • Understanding of workflows and systems in one or more of SSL’s key markets
  • Proven client-facing skills, ideally with experience in a training environment
  • Attention to detail with an ability to quickly assimilate and recall information accurately
  • Good written and verbal communication
  • Ability to prioritise and work logically and efficiently under pressure, independently and as part of a team
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Desire to travel internationally

Desirable Competencies:

  • Experience in a front-line technical support role, including remote support
  • Experience of networking & AoIP technologies
  • Technical writing skills
  • Board-level rework skills
  • DANTE Level 2 or 3 certified
