System T

Reliable, fast-paced audio production for today’s modern broadcasters

Modern broadcasting has changed dramatically in the past decade. The demands for an agile and flexible audio production platform that can work across traditional news and modern content programming is constantly evolving. Satisfying the latest in IP infrastructure and multi-channel audio formats also adds to the complexities involved.

System T production platform was designed specifically to meet these challenges, and more. Embrace increased IP expansion and connectivity with confidence. Manage Dante, ST2110 and AES67 routing all from your audio console or interface.

Exceptional audio quality

System T is built on years of expertise combining SSL’s pristine SuperAnalogueTM foundations with 64-bit floating point processing and mixing to ensure unlimited audio headroom. Its immersive audio infrastructure also provides Net Generation Audio (NGA) capability for ATSC 3.0, Dolby Atmos and MPEG-H, as well as 3D sound positioning.

Highly configurable technology

System T offers fixed format and modular control surfaces incorporating the latest multi-gesture touch screen technology, which are highly configurable to suit individual preferences. Architectural flexibility enables signal channel flow management to match multiple workflows and users.

Audio over IP

System T utilises Audinate’s Dante technology stack, including the Dante API managing audio routing of SSL Network I/O and over 3000 third party AoIP products directly in the console GUI, including automatic discovery. SSL AoIP devices enable transmitting and subscribing to ST 2110 or AES67 streams on the same Dante interface, opening up interoperability to many more devices including IP video systems.

With System T you can have the best of all IP worlds as the audio routing is performed directly on COTS network hardware, not proprietary TDM audio routing hardware. Learn more in our AoIP overview.

Immersive Audio

In media and entertainment (M&E), immersive audio and its application has been a technology topic for the past decade, but we are now seeing it utilised across a growing swell of content. At SSL we are focused on delivering a great immersive audio experience. Find out why System T is leading with way in broadcast audio with its immersive production workflows, outstanding sonic quality and market-leading feature set.

Multi-studio workflow

Tinopolis Cymru, the UK’s largest producer of Welsh language programming, has upgraded its audio production with the installation of a 32+2 fader System T S500 console in its Main Control Room. With three studio spaces all connected via a Dante network, the new console is seeing constant use as Tinopolis produces the daily primetime and afternoon magazine content, alongside an impressive range of other live and post production work.

The System T S500 control surface is connected to a T25 Tempest Engine and can be used with any of the three networked studios, each with SSL Network I/O stageboxes featuring remotely controllable SuperAnalogue™ mic preamps. Also connected to the redundant Dante network are SSL Network I/O SDI, MADI and AES units to provide connectivity in the machine room and a Network I/O A16.D16 for the mix of analogue and digital connections required in the control room.

Breaking down barriers - Remote production

Distributed and decentralised, providing true collaborative workflows, System T scales to your agile production requirements from home, the studio and the venue. System T remote capabilities are as flexible as your ideas and connections. Remote across a facility, remote across a city, remote across a continent.

Taking Broadcast Audio Production to New Heights - Tempest Control App

Tempest Control App (TCA) offers an ideal solution for broadcast environments where a powerful broadcast audio mixer is required but a traditional console is not. Tempest Control App brings the full feature-set of System T into a software application with direct control of Tempest Engines. This includes direct AoIP routing control, native support for object and channel based immersive audio, inbuilt FX processing, DAW control, optional Dynamic Automation licence and much more.

System T V3.1 Release

Software version V3.1 brings a range of hardware and software developments to the System T broadcast production platform, offering processing scalability and rental options, enhanced 3rd party device control and a host of operator focused software enhancements.
